Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Pin it now handles information for the web app, PWA, and browser extension.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, username, avatar, bio, and authentication identifiers needed to operate your account.
- Saved content: URLs, titles, descriptions, images, site names, link types, collections, tags, and sharing settings that you choose to save or create.
- Browser extension data: the extension reads the active tab URL, title, and available Open Graph metadata only when you use the popup, context menu, or shortcut to save content.
- Usage and device data: basic analytics, performance information, PWA install events, browser details, and timestamps used to improve reliability and understand product usage.
How we use information
- To provide the Pin it now service, including saving, organizing, searching, editing, and sharing pins.
- To authenticate users, maintain sessions, prevent abuse, and protect accounts.
- To fetch link metadata, generate previews, and make saved pins easier to recognize later.
- To monitor app performance, diagnose issues, and improve the product.
- To send transactional emails such as authentication, password reset, and account-related messages.
Browser extension permissions
- The extension uses identity for sign-in, storage for session persistence, contextMenus for right-click save actions, activeTab and tabs for user-initiated tab access, scripting for reading page metadata after user action, and notifications for save confirmations or errors.
- The extension only sends data for pages, links, or images that you explicitly choose to save. It does not collect browsing history in the background.
Sharing and third-party services
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We use Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and security controls.
- We use Vercel to host the application and collect web analytics and performance insights.
- We use Resend to send transactional emails.
- We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect public forms from spam and abuse.
- We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to prevent abuse of the service.
Public and shared content
- Pins and collections are private by default unless you choose to make them public, unlisted, or available through a share token.
- Public profiles, public pins, public collections, and active share links can be viewed by people who have access to those URLs.
Data retention and deletion
- We retain account and saved content data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
- You can edit or delete pins, collections, tags, profile details, and your account from the app. Account deletion removes associated pins, collections, tags, profile data, and uploaded files.
- Some logs, backups, security records, or legally required records may be retained for a limited period where necessary.
Security
- We use authentication, row-level security, access controls, HTTPS, and platform security features to protect user data.
- No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit access and protect information from unauthorized use.
Children
- Pin it now is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy when the product, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
